## Why I created CraftedBills

> I didn’t lack the intention to stay organised. I lacked one place that could tell me what I already had, what was still missing and what I should hand over to accounting. For years, I gathered documents from emails, folders and different systems, then compared them manually with my bank statement. Something was always missing, so closing the month kept getting pushed back.

## Payments and documents live in different places.

A bank statement confirms what was paid. KSeF, folders and supplier portals hold the evidence. CraftedBills connects both sides and turns that scattered work into one list of decisions.

Four clear stages replace manual comparison across statements, downloads and invoice folders.

1. **Add payments** — Import an mBank PDF, adaptive bank CSV, MT940 or CAMT.053 statement and review what is new.
2. **Collect documents** — Sync KSeF TEST, add PDFs or let CraftedBills watch a local folder.
3. **Review matches** — Accept clear suggestions, resolve discrepancies and record exclusions.
4. **Close the month** — Export the monthly report and preserve a clear snapshot of every decision.

## FAQ

### Is CraftedBills accounting software?

CraftedBills is software that helps prepare and hand over settlement documents, but it is not an accounting ledger or tax-calculation system. It does not keep statutory books, calculate tax returns or replace professional accounting advice.

### Does it retrieve invoices from KSeF?

The current MVP supports KSeF TEST receiving with secure credentials, incremental Subject2 retrieval and local XML storage. Production KSeF remains disabled until the integration and security path are fully validated.

### What about invoices from foreign suppliers?

Foreign PDFs are first-class documents. CraftedBills reads supported PDFs locally and uses supplier, amount, currency and dates in the same matching workflow as Polish documents. If an invoice is in USD or EUR, the payment is in PLN and the bank omitted the original amount, the app can show an explanatory historical NBP estimate.

### Does it handle USD and EUR payments?

Yes. The matcher compares the bank's original amount with the invoice currency and shows the configured tolerance. If the original amount is missing, it can rank a candidate by supplier and nearby dates but cannot accept it automatically. For PLN settlements it also shows a historical NBP estimate and the difference from the actual charge; that estimate is not presented as the card rate.

### Can one invoice have several payments?

Yes. A person can create a group for several payments against one invoice, or for one batch transfer against several invoices. CraftedBills compares the totals and requires a note when amounts or currencies do not balance.

### Can it read scanned PDFs?

Yes. Supported scans can be processed locally with Apple Vision OCR in Polish or English. If extraction is incomplete, the original remains unchanged and fields can be completed manually.

## Product boundaries

- Public, read-only marketing website.
- The current MVP works locally on macOS and has an iOS simulator build. KSeF TEST and Fakturownia publishing adapters are ready for controlled credential-based validation; production KSeF remains disabled.
- CraftedBills is software and an app that help solo entrepreneurs navigate the process of preparing settlement documents and handing them over to accounting.
- No public API, authentication, checkout, payment or agent actions are available on this website.
