Product scope, data boundaries and the difference between what works now and what is planned next.

## Is CraftedBills accounting software?

CraftedBills is software that helps prepare and hand over settlement documents, but it is not an accounting ledger or tax-calculation system. It does not keep statutory books, calculate tax returns or replace professional accounting advice.

## Does it retrieve invoices from KSeF?

The current MVP supports KSeF TEST receiving with secure credentials, incremental Subject2 retrieval and local XML storage. Production KSeF remains disabled until the integration and security path are fully validated.

## What about invoices from foreign suppliers?

Foreign PDFs are first-class documents. CraftedBills reads supported PDFs locally and uses supplier, amount, currency and dates in the same matching workflow as Polish documents.

## Does it handle USD and EUR payments?

Yes, document and payment currency are explicit matching signals. The system can show exchange-rate differences, but an approximate amount alone is not enough for automatic acceptance.

## Can one invoice have several payments?

Yes. A person can create a group for several payments against one invoice, or for one batch transfer against several invoices. CraftedBills compares the totals and requires a note when amounts or currencies do not balance.

## Can it read scanned PDFs?

Yes. Supported scans can be processed locally with Apple Vision OCR in Polish or English. If extraction is incomplete, the original remains unchanged and fields can be completed manually.

## Can it issue invoices to KSeF?

The local build can create a sales-invoice draft and publish it through a configured Fakturownia account, then track the KSeF status and retrieve XML and UPO. This path is ready for controlled account testing and is not presented as a production-validated public service yet.

## Do my documents go to the cloud?

Core work is local. A document leaves the device only when you deliberately use an integration whose function requires an external service.

## Which bank formats are supported?

The local app supports mBank statement PDFs, an adaptive CSV importer, MT940 files with .txt, .sta or .mt940 extensions and CAMT.053 files with .xml, .camt or .camt053 extensions. CSV detects Polish or English headers, MT940 preserves multi-line descriptions and dates, while streaming CAMT.053 preserves structured counterparties, account identity, references, original currency, value date and booking date. Unknown or unsafe XML fails before changing the workspace.

## Does my accountant need an account?

No. The local app exports a monthly ZIP with reports, exceptions, accepted expense documents, available sales XML/UPO and a SHA-256 manifest. A future accountant portal would remain optional.

## How is completeness calculated?

It is the share of complete payments among all payments that require a document. Exclusions such as own transfers or taxes must keep a category, reason and author.

## Can I correct a wrong match?

Yes. You can accept, reject or replace a suggestion. Manual decisions and rejected pairs are recorded and take priority over later automatic suggestions.

## What if the same invoice exists in KSeF and on disk?

CraftedBills deduplicates it into one logical document with more than one source: the original KSeF XML and the local PDF representation.
